Mindfulness Classes for Students
Mindfulness classes are available for students of all ages from pre-K to twelfth grade. Sara Baio designs classes to help students meet their own individualized needs and build connections with others. Sara is a trauma-informed mindfulness instructor, restorative justice facilitator, and special education teacher. Sara meets students where they are and helps them access their own internal ability to regulate themselves and heal. Sara Baio incorporates meditation, restorative practices, journaling, art, play, and movement in her lessons, as well as yoga, qigong, and Tai Chi.
In mindfulness classes, students will develop tools that help them increase awareness and self-regulation, maintain focus, cultivate happiness and creativity, manage difficult emotions, decrease stress, and strengthen compassion for themselves and others. Students will learn how to be their own best healer and advocate. Students will also learn how to skillfully work with their energy and the energy around them. They will explore their connectedness to one another and nature.

Programming can be designed to be compatible with your school district and students’ needs. The topic, length, and number of classes are flexible, although a minimum of 25 twenty minute lessons is recommended. Building healthy habits takes a great deal of repetition, so ongoing mindfulness classes throughout the school year is ideal.
