Qigong is an ancient Chinese vitality practice that is still flourishing today. Qi means energy and gong means cultivation or skill. Qigong is a way of bringing awareness and care to your own energy and the energy of the world around you. Tai Chi, a well known practice in Western culture evolved from qigong. In qigong, people practice grounding themselves and reconnecting to nature. People engage in healing movements and sounds to reduce stress and improve vitality. In some ways, qigong can be considered moving meditation. Qigong and mindfulness can go hand in hand, especially if you find stillness challenging. Try some of these qigong practices!
